Did you say color?

Writer's picture: Suzanne AllardSuzanne Allard
This week, my licensing agent emailed me and said, "Would you be interested in working on some pigmented, bold color pieces with details that we can license to puzzle companies?" Wow, did my heart jump with joy! That heart flipflop when you hear or see something is a powerful clue. That, more than anything, will guide you to what you want to hang on your walls or learn to create yourself. I could tell I had energy around the idea because all the other business stuff I'd planned for the day (you know, designing and filming classes, marketing, taking classes, etc.) went right out the window! I got out my Nova paints, my gouache, my oil pastels and woody's (for the curious, links to all supplies here). I grabbed some canvases and gessoed some watercolor paper in different sizes and I was like a five-year-old kid at the kitchen table. In fact, my tongue may have even been sticking out🤣. If you want to create and you feel stuck, put on your five-year-old and play with color with abandon - there's nothing like it for learning and setting yourself free. Here's a video clip (silent) of a bit of my playing and photos of some of these colorful ones in progress. Have a fantastic week 😘
